Horse show and carriage driving

The 2013 horse show was a great success with over 300 horses competing over the day. The weather was kind and competitors enjoyed competing and then looking round the rest of the show, experiencing the attractions in the main arena, working dogs, local foods and the fun fair.

Cricklade Show is a full country show, with the horse section being only a small part of the overall day. Highlights of the day were the Shane Hobbs Puissance, which was held in the CB Slade Arena, saw 18 riders go forward to jump the big wall. Max Warburton from Brize Norton and his horse Ginger Kid won the class jumping both elements clear set at 4ft9.

Emily Chambers was second on Maery Jolly, clearing the triple bar, but pushing a brick out of the wall. The Cricklade Show Champion of Champions, which is open to all the Champion show horses of the day, saw local rider Chloe Ponting and her horse Eddie take the title and £100 prize. 1st Reserve was Willow Tarrant with Lostock Black Velvet with 2nd reserve going to Dawn Bacchus and ex race horse Amezola. Cricklade Show offers competitors classes in show jumping, dressage, showing, working hunter as well as the popular gymkhana.

We would like to thank all the sponsors who supported the show in 2013, and hope that you enjoyed the day out.
